Think Bigger by Aiming Higher

The knowledge and insights that we have gained from our past experiences brought us to where we are now. However, we are often hindered by what we think we know to go beyond where we currently stand. Aiming higher allows you to open up your mind to the countless possibilities of the future. With that, you are able to think bigger and gain new capacities from new experiences that will come your way.

Paradoxically, it is “knowing” that takes us to the next step but also holds us back from doing so. What do I mean by this? Thinking that you know everything that is needed to know limits the space you can grow into and explore. You are stuck passing and resolving the same mistakes until eventually it stops being one, and then what? The tendency is you will stay there -- a place you’ve grown comfortable with and unafraid of. However, what is often overlooked and forgotten is that what you think you “know” is limited to the experiences you’ve had. Consequently, this means that to learn more, you would have to be open to experiencing the unfamiliar again which comes with constant setbacks and mistakes again and again. Yes, it’s scary. But how else will you grow and learn more? What will take us to the next step is actually what we have yet to know.

Think bigger, become bigger -- than your past, your present, and what you currently know. When you break free from the comforts of the familiar, you will yearn for bigger things, bigger goals, and a better you. By envisioning such goals, you will discover ways and acquire skills that will allow you to reach that dream. By expanding your knowledge and thinking bigger, you will get new capacities that will help you play bigger.
